Her Montana Hero Montana Home Book 1 edition by Roxanne Snopek Contemporary Romance eBooks

I enjoyed this story very much. It was well written and the characters were well developed. The storyline was pretty predictable but it was sweet none the less.

Logan was a hometown hero type who had fallen in love with Samara in high school. She had disappeared one night and never came back and never got in touch. She had been the outcast at school and Logan had brought her in and made sure she was included. She was the girl from the wrong side of the tracks who had attracted the attention of the football hero and all around good guy.

It is now several years later. Samara is a young widow with a four year old daughter who has special needs. Although, they never confirm it, she seems to have some autistic type behaviors and if you add in the tragedy of the loss of her father, she is very shy and reserved and has a hard time with change and being around other people. Samara remembers Marietta as being the place where she was the happiest and decides she needs to live New York and settle in a small town with lots of community for her daughter's sake. She bought a home that was being renovated by a group of local high school students and their teacher who had developed this program to help students learn about the construction trade with hands on experience. When Samara shows up at her new house, she found that it was still several weeks away from being finished and that the teacher overseeing the work was non other than her high school boyfriend, Logan.

Logan had married, divorced, left Marietta for a while after the divorce and had returned to teach in the high school and work with teenagers. He was one of the town's most eligible bachelors and Samara had just unexpected walked back into his life. He still had feelings for Samara and she still seemed to have feelings for him. After all these years, though, could they still have a happily every after. You'll have to read the story to find out for yourself.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

True love stories never have endings

Samara "Sam" Davis spent her younger years moving from one town to the next. But, the one town she never forgot was Marietta Montana where she first fell in love. It was also the first place she felt she belonged and the first school she enjoyed.

Now widowed, Sam has returned to raise her daughter Jade in Marietta. She feels the small town and close knit community will be the best environment for her.

Logan Stafford is teaching students from the high school different trades. They work in homes around town which are then put up for sale. When Sam walks in as the new home owner, he doesn't believe his eyes. All the memories come back to him. They come back to Sam too.

The move in date is approaching quick, but the work in the home not going as fast as expected. They end up working together to help speed up the process. Working this closely, they start remembering why they were perfect for each other in school. But, Sam is not ready for a relationship. She is trying to be the best mother she can for Jade and not sure if it will work out between her and Logan.

Lots of surprises pop up along the way which only bring them even closer. Will Logan be able to convince Sam that they can be together again and it can be good for Jade too?

This was a really cute story and a lot of fun to read.
I liked the premise. Logan was sweet, sexy, understanding, etc. Loved Logan. Didn't care for Sam. It was obvious there was some issue with Sam's daughter Jade, but the book gives the impression it could be a number of things. Logan developed a better repoire with Jade than her mother did.

Samara was a major problem for me. I could not bring myself to like her. She seemed to be neurotic, anxiety ridden, and wound so tight she was always seemed to be on the verge of shattering. Then something would happen and she would seem fine, laughing with Logan, or his students. She was quick to accuse the people she was living with, and downright unpleasant sometimes. She was bristlely, if that is even a word. Sam was on an emotional rollercoaster that really detracted from the storyline. I couldn't fathom why Logan wanted to get involved with her.

The story also seemed to end rather abruptly. Overprotective Sam, suddenly didn't mind her daughter spending the night with other people. She ran around the entire book talking about how Jade was HER daughter, and in the next breath, she would let Logan take control and stand there watching him calm Jade down.

This book made me feel like a story was being told, the writer got tired of it, and decided to end it. I'm wavering between 2.5 and 3 stars.
This was a story of second chances. It was a sweet story, no explicit sex, and a great hero. I really liked him. He worked in a special program at the local high school. He was divorced and happy being single. He is the catch of the local town but he doesn't show any interest. He is sweet, kind, good with kids, just a great guy.

She comes back to the small home town to raise her daughter. She is a very young widow. Her husband died and things between them were not good so she has a bit of guilt there. I didn't care for this gal's personality. She was over-the-top worried about everything. Everything was a danger or a threat, she was a "helicopter" parent to her young daughter. She just hovered too much. It seemed to me that the mother had more problems than the child. She harbored negative feelings from her childhood, she suffered guilt from her marriage, she was still upset over the husband dying and the doctor's not saving him, she worried over every little step the child took. She just got on my last nerve. She really needed a much stronger dose of Aunt Mabel...

It was a sweet story and a good read. The heroine just got on my nerves a bit but I would still recommend the book and I think it will be found to be enjoyable. It was nice to go back to Mariette, Montana again. I have been there many times with other author's, so it was a fun return trip.
